What does ‘Veteran Aware’ mean?

is a group of NHS providers, that have agreed to be exemplars of the best possible healthcare for, and support to the Armed Forces Community.

Â鶹¹ú²ú District Hospital is proud to have been one the first acute hospitals in the UK awarded the Veteran Aware accreditation which recognises the high standard to care provided. The hospital has also recently been successfully re-accredited. We work closely with partners like GP practices and community healthcare providers to identify veterans and their families to ensure appropriate consideration is given when planning and prioritising their treatment and care needs.

Our staff at Â鶹¹ú²ú District Hospital have long been well regarded for the quality of care and treatment they provide for our patients and for their innovation, commitment and professionalism. This has been recognised in a wide range of achievements and it is reflected in our award of NHS Foundation Trust status. This is afforded to hospitals that provide the highest standards of care.
