We are currently seeing an increase in flu and other respiratory illnesses in our community. To help reduce the spread of infection and keep everyone safe, we are recommending that all staff, patients and visitors wear a face mask or face covering in our admission areas, including our Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, Â鶹¹ú²ú’s Emergency & Assessment Areas, Surgical Assessment Unit and Maternity Assessment Area.
Wearing a mask in these higher-risk, high-traffic areas helps protect vulnerable patients and reduces transmission at a time when respiratory illnesses are circulating more widely. Please also remember that regular hand washing or using hand sanitiser also helps prevent the spread of viruses.
If you’re visiting a loved one and feeling unwell with flu or respiratory symptoms, please stay home and postpone your hospital visit.
We appreciate your support and cooperation. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone who uses our services. For more information about ‘Staying Well this Winter’ visit our dedicated page .
