Request Summary: Expenditure on hotels and other temporary accommodation for doctors.
Request Category: Media
| Question Number 1: I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding expenditure on hotels and other temporary accommodation for doctors. For the purposes of this request, 鈥渄octors鈥 means doctors employed by, contracted to, or otherwise working on behalf of the Trust, including locum and agency doctors. 鈥淭emporary accommodation鈥 means hotels or other short-term accommodation paid for or reimbursed by the Trust. Please exclude permanent or longer-term staff residential accommodation provided as part of normal employment arrangements. Presentation of the data Please provide the information electronically and, where possible, in Excel or CSV format, with one row for each financial year and separate columns for expenditure, number of stays/nights and reason/category. I do not require the names or other identifying personal information of any individual doctors. If information falling within the scope of the request is recorded under a slightly different terminology or accounting category, please provide the closest equivalent information held and explain the basis on which it has been provided. If some of the requested information is not held, please provide the information that is held and specify which elements are not held. Please provide the following: Annual expenditure The total amount spent by the Trust on hotels and other temporary accommodation for doctors in each of the following financial years: 鈥 2021/22 鈥 2022/23 鈥 2023/24 鈥 2024/25 鈥 2025/26 Please include both accommodation booked or paid for directly by the Trust and accommodation costs reimbursed to doctors through expenses, insofar as these can be identified from your records | |
| Answer To Question 1: We were able to identify accommodation costs which had been reimbursed to doctors for 25-26 only. Total was for 拢8,469 and it was all for training. We cannot break down by number of nights and this does not include any invoices paid directly by the Trust. Unfortunately the Trust do not have any other information covering other years | |
| Question Number 2: Number of stays For each of the above financial years, please provide, if held or readily retrievable: 鈥 the number of hotel/temporary accommodation stays paid for or reimbursed by the Trust; and 鈥 the number of nights of accommodation paid for or reimbursed. | |
| Answer To Question 2: See response to Q1 | |
| Question Number 3: Reasons for providing accommodation For each financial year, please provide any recorded breakdown by reason, purpose or category explaining why the hotel or temporary accommodation was provided. For example, categories might include accommodation associated with: 鈥 on-call duties or shift patterns; 鈥 consecutive, late-finishing or early-starting shifts; 鈥 staff shortages; 鈥 locum or temporary staffing; 鈥 training; 鈥 travel between Trust sites; 鈥 relocation; or 鈥 any other purpose. These examples are intended only to clarify the type of information sought. Please use the categories or descriptions actually held by the Trust rather than creating new categories for the purposes of this request. Where no central breakdown by reason/category is held, please state this. I am not asking the Trust to manually review individual transactions in order to retrospectively determine the purpose of each stay. | |
